Connections 4 Frank, Deborah

Welcome to Fourth Grade Connections

Ms. Frank’s Class 2016-2017

Parents please read below:

Homework will be assigned and will affect the effort grade on your child’s report card.  If absent they are given the time to make up each assignment with the same amount of time in which they were out. They must approach me as to what they need to make up.  Please make the homework that comes home a priority, provide a quiet environment, set a daily time, and make homework a positive experience that reinforces this program.  Make sure they get plenty of rest when time for bed. A sleepy child has a difficult time listening to instructions.

This is a project based curriculum that creates flexible thinking and creativity, depth and complexity, research and process skills, and products and performances.

The children are expected to be challenged with the projects assigned to make them relate to the real world.  They have to stay on task and when an assignment is assigned which is Project Based, they must start immediately.  They are usually given 2-3 weeks for completion.

Daily assignments are written on the board and in order to create a responsibility of these children, which at this age is crucial, they must write in their School Planner daily.  They are reminded 2 or 3 times daily and again it is written on the board.

Some assignments have follow-ups, please understand that they are not "busy work."  Please set up a conference if you have concerns or questions regarding my classroom activity.

Thank you in advance for your understanding.
